Mr. José H. Prado Flores

Director — Founder of the Saint Andrew Evangelization School

On May 15, 1947, the great city of Mexico saw the birth of José H. Prado Flores, better known as “Pepe Prado”. In 1981 he married Susan at Cana in Galilee. Four children were born of this union: Susan, Juan Marcos, David and Ana Gabriela.

He obtained a diploma in philosophy in 1969 at the Higher Institute of Ecclesiastical Studies of Mexico. At the same institution, from 1972–1973, he studied theology after obtaining, in 1970, a diploma in Holy Scripture at the Higher Institute of Holy Scripture. Toward the end of 1971, after experiencing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the life of Mr. José H. Prado Flores was completely transformed: he discovered his vocation as a lay evangelizer in the Church. He then continued his studies in Belgium and obtained, in 1977, a diploma with great distinction from the Lumen Vitae Institute of Pastoral Studies and Catechesis in Brussels.

He returned to Mexico and devoted himself to teaching: he was in turn a professor of Bible at the Higher Institute of Holy Scripture; of biblical languages at the Higher Institute of Ecclesiastical Studies; of Bible at the Catholic Biblical Institute of Guadalajara; then, in 2005, a professor at the Institute for the Leaders of the Charismatic Renewal in Rome. In addition to journal articles published in 15 countries, he has written some thirty volumes relating to the new evangelization and the renewal in the Holy Spirit. These books have been translated into 25 languages. His preaching extends to 52 countries, including the Vatican. He has also preached priests’ retreats in 17 countries.

The Saint Andrew Evangelization School

In 1980 he founded the Saint Andrew Evangelization School, which today extends its branches to 82 countries with more than 2000 schools. These schools share the same vision, the same methodology and the same training program. In 1981 he met Father Emiliano Tardif and they began to work together. Together with him, in 1986, he set up the KEKAKO pastoral project (KErygma KArisma KOinonia). From 1987 to 1993 he was the Latin American director of Evangelization 2000, then from 1993 to 1998 a member of the International Council of the Charismatic Renewal in Rome and of the ecumenical group ICCOWE.

Since then, moved by the breath of the Holy Spirit, and desirous of putting into practice this command of Jesus: “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature” (Mk 16:15), Mr. José H. Prado Flores, this great charismatic, multiplies his preaching throughout the world.
